Google my business has always been a great platform for the local business owners for the promotions of business/brands and services and they keep on testing with the new features to help local business owners display the updated business or service news with their customers.
This time, Google is testing with a new display feature of “Estimated cost near you” in the Google My Business Pack/GMB Pack of 3 listings that will display the estimated cost of the work in a particular area for the Provider Services.
This feature is currently available for the U.S and may get available globally sometime.
Why Google Updated “Estimated cost near you” in the Local Packs?
Google has always been a user-centric search engine and that is the key to their success. By updating the Estimated cost near your section in the google business packs they want to help local service seeking customers to know the estimated cost before they book/hire any professional for the work.
The pricing estimates will be based on the ZIP codes.
How Google Estimates the Cost for Local Services in Google My Business Pack?
Google is partnered with Homewyse (Homewyse is the fact-based, independent reference for home product, installation, and service estimates.) If you want to read further on How Homewyse calculates the date you can read here.
I further researched on Homewyse and found it is an open-source platform for local business providers that allows them to list their service costs in General or with Brand Names for their locally targeted areas.

The thing to know is, Homewyse is not a free service and if you want your prices list to get index in search engines then you have to opt for their monthly pricing https://app.homewyse.com/payment/choose-plan/. Though it is a part of Google Guaranteed Local Service Ads business owners can still list their own service prices for the location they provide Home Improvement services.
