YouTube community contributions going away soon. Yes, you read it correctly.

What is the YouTube Community Contributions?

That is a feature that allows users to contribute subtitles, descriptions, titles, and closed captions to the channel videos. All the contributions users give are viewable on the video watch page and by clicking the [CC] icon in the player.

So, YouTube is discontinuing the community contributions across all channels after 28th September 2020.

The major reason for removing this feature is because this feature was rarely been used by the users and to the level it was getting used YouTube has to deal with a lot of spam/abuse.

As of now, YouTube is focusing more on enhancing the features of YouTube Studio so content creators can use their own captions, third-party tools, automatic captions, and other services.
